The NMSO Endowment

$6 Million by '06

The New Mexico Symphony Orchestra proudly announces that it has exceeded its permanent endowment goal of $3 million. Tempered by difficult times in the past, our Orchestra has emerged strong and vibrant, nationally recognized for its achievements in both artistic excellence and in groundbreaking service to our community.

The cornerstone of this success has been the NMSO's Endowment. With the success of the of the first phase of the campaign, the Board of Trustees recently announced a new endowment goal: $6 million to be completed by 2006 – "$6 Million by '06." This goal received a big "assist" in September, 2002, with the awarding of a $400,000 challenge grant to the NMSO by the Kresge Foundantion. The NMSO must raise an additional $1,250,000 for the endowment to receive this grant and we know it can be done with your help.

Your investment in the NMSO's Endowment Fund, Albuquerque Community Foundation held in trust by the Albuquerque Community Foundation, will give us the tools to pursue the two most important goals we can have -- ever increasing musical excellence and variety and quality of service to the broadest segments of our community.

Specifically, how can you help? The Endowment Fund means more than a balanced budget. It is a gift that lives forever. There are currently seven musicians' chairs endowed as well as an annual choral concert and school ensemble visits. We recently received our largest single gift, $500,000, the interest from which will be used to augmet musicians' salaries.
